Molsons Withdraws Homosexual Ad

Even though Molson Breweries proudly announced last spring that it would be using an ad showing a homosexual/lesbian image, it has now apparently reconsidered and has decided not to use the ad after all (See Reality, September/October 1997, "Molson Breweries Uses Lesbian Advertisement", p. 14, and Reality, March/April 1998, "Misinformation by Molson Breweries About its Homosexual Ad", p. 4).

In a letter to REAL Women dated March 25, 1998, Marilyn McCrea, Vice President, Corporate Affairs, advised us that

Molson has no plans to air this particular commercial. We have received mixed consumer reaction to the media coverage surrounding the development of the ad .... In fact, the ad never aired nor do we have any plans to air the ad.
