Carol's Corner

While most Canadians sleep, the most important issue facing our country is happening mainly off stage: most of our politicians and the mainstream media (MSM) are ignoring it.

What is this issue? The increasing loss of Canadians’ guaranteed right to freedom of expression. One of the main ways by which this totalitarian agenda is being carried out is in the threat of being persecuted by one of Canada’s Human Rights (sic) Commissions (HRCs).

Indeed, HRCs are not about human rights at all: they are no more than kangaroo courts, where all the protections of due process, even granted to criminals like Paul Bernardo, are suspended. HRC sanctions are often crushing: burdensome fines, re-education, the loss of one’s job, and even being ordered to repudiate one’s deeply held religious convictions. As long as these quasi-judicial Star Chambers are allowed to run rough shod over the rights of law abiding Canadians, the “freedom” to publicly speak one’s mind is severely limited: all part of the totalitarian left’s agenda to reshape Canada into a 1984-like polity.

While Liberal MP, Keith Martin, has introduced a motion to protect innocent Canadians from persecution, by removing Section 13 from the Canadian Human Rights Act, Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty has expanded the mandate of the Ontario Human Rights industry.

Thanks to Gwen Landolt, REAL Women has been way ahead of the game in sounding the alarm. What to do now? Read Ezra Levant’s web site daily – www.ezra@ezralevant.com. Then educate those you know and contact your MPP or MLA and MP, as well as the Prime Minister, about this abuse of state power. Urge your MP to vote to remove Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act.

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.” Canadians have been asleep at the switch. If we don’t rid ourselves of the tyranny of these HRCs, Canada will soon be a gulag, not a democracy.
