PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

As I reviewed the list of articles for this issue of the Reality, I realized that again we are sending you some very "heavy" messages. How I wish we could lighten up, but that simply is not possible while so many serious matters must be addressed. At this particular time, the homosexual issue is in the forefront, so much so, that we are even openly challenging the Royal Bank of Canada, a very powerful entity indeed.

The simple fact is that REAL Women of Canada is committed to doing whatever it can to preserve the traditional Canadian family, and especially to protect our children from destructive influences. More and more, our young people are being conditioned by the media, the courts, and the government, to believe that homosexuality is a normal and acceptable lifestyle.

Teenaged boys, in particular, are vulnerable to what is touted as a trendy, alternative, sexually satisfying way of life. Young men, hormones raging, are fair game for unconscionable seducers, and many are led into a sad, dangerous lifestyle.

If REAL Women does not speak out, who will? Certainly not our judiciary, which has lowered the age of consent for sodomy to age 14 (as if any 14-year-old boy is capable of making such a decision!) and has interpreted the Charter of Rights to "read in" homosexual "rights." Certainly not our elected representatives, who have time and time again permitted the erosion of religious freedom and the promotion of homosexuality. Certainly not the many religious leaders who accept "gay marriages", or even if they are opposed, are too fearful to make any public protest.

We, REAL Women of Canada, will continue to speak out, but for how long? If Bill C-415 is passed by Parliament, opinions such as those expressed in our Reality publication will no doubt be considered "hateful" and attempts may be made to silence our voice.

In the early years of our organization, our main concern was to offset the radical feminist movement. Today this special interest group is almost dead in the water, but much of the feminist legacy remains, such as feminist judges on our courts, the quota system, whereby women are given preference in employment; "gender police" in all government departments to ensure the feminist ideology is included in government policies, an unrealistic and unfair "pay equity" system, uncontrolled abortion rights, etc.

That is, the remnants of feminism continue to have an effect because of a significant number of them still remain in positions of influence in the media, the courts, churches, education system. We must deal with this legacy, which will take at least another generation to eliminate.

In like manner, the homosexual rights activists are working hard to reconstruct Canada to their liking, through such measures as Bill C-415 (hate propaganda). We will then be left to deal with the legacy of unconstrained homosexuality. Rest assured, REAL Women of Canada will continue, no matter what happens, to fight the erosion of traditional values.

Sadly, the public seems either unaware or uncaring. Instead of voicing condemnation of the extremely dangerous and unhealthy homosexual lifestyle, so many Canadians tolerate the intolerable. REAL Women believes we must follow the admonition of the famous British politician, Edmund Burke: "There is, however, a limit at which forbearance ceases to be a virtue!"

We are well aware of the consequences of our actions. It certainly is not without trepidation that we challenge the Establishment. We can but step out in faith, secure in the knowledge that with the help of God, and the support of our wonderful members, we will make a difference.

God bless!
