MARTIN CAUCHON WINS HOMOSEXUAL AWARD

It's no secret, that while he was Minister of Justice, one of Martin Cauchon's major interests was to push the homosexual agenda and, in particular, that of same-sex marriage.

However, Mr. Cauchon was frustrated by the Canadian public, which clearly did not share his enthusiasm for the issue, and bucked him at every turn. His final ignominy was to be unceremoniously dumped by Prime Minister Paul Martin to be sent to the backbenches in Parliament. He is now sitting out his term, surrounded by unfriendly Liberal MPs whom he alienated by trying to push them around while he held the Justice portfolio.

All is not lost however: Mr. Cauchon is going to be honoured by his grateful homosexual followers. He is to receive an award from a Philadelphia organization called Equality Forum, which promotes homosexual/lesbian rights. The award is to be made during a conference to be held in Philadelphia April 26 - May 2, 2004.

Mr. Cauchon was selected because "Throughout Minister Cauchon's distinguished career he has supported GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered) civil rights including his important support for gay marriage." That's for sure!

According to the co-founder of the organization, Darrell Schuurman, "Canada is bringing our best, including political leaders like Member of Parliament Svend Robinson and Winnipeg Mayor Glen Murray, and Kevin Bourassa and Joe Varnell, North America's first gay married couple."

Supporting Canada's participation in Equality Forum is the Canadian Tourism Commission, Tourisme Montréal, the City of Winnipeg, the Government of Ontario, and PrideVision TV.
