HOMOSEXUALS HOWL AND RAGE AT OPPONENTS

Instead of entering into a dialogue with those who oppose their agenda, homosexual activists choose to hurl personal insults and invectives at those who oppose them. They believe this will intimidate and silence them. This behaviour does nothing to gain sympathy for them or advance their cause. The repeated use of these tactics also shows that they simply do not have substantial arguments, logic or reason to counter those who oppose them, and, instead, they resort to vindictive, childish rage.

The issue of same-sex marriage has especially caused homosexual activists to go into high gear with these tactics. For example:

  1. REAL Women on CBC Online (http://www.cbc.ca), May 18 - 28, 2004

In late April, the CBC contacted REAL Women to ask us to write a column on the issue of same-sex marriage for posting on its website. We were advised that the CBC was requesting the article in order to provide "balance" in their programming. This was news in itself since "balance" has never appeared to be a concern for the network.

However, we were pleased to comply, and our article was duly posted on the CBC website on May 18th. (See reprint of the article on p.21.)

As a result the homosexual activists nearly went ballistic. They were stunned that such an article would appear on "their" network. An urgent request was posted on the homosexual website http://www.equalmarriage.ca/ to respond to REAL Women's alleged "bigoted" opinion. In addition to their vitriolic letters against REAL Women's article, many of which were posted on the CBC website following the article, the activists also made forty (40) complaints to the CBC Ombudsman's office. They also demanded and received the right to do a critique of REAL Women's article on the website by a member of the lobby group, EGALE. So much for "balance" on the CBC. However, our article served its purpose, and for ten days (May 18 - May 28) the public was finally exposed to another point of view on the same-sex marriage issue on our national network.

  2. Focus on the Family Ad Campaign

During the month of May, Focus on the Family (FOTF) ran a series of wonderful advertisements in Canada's major daily newspapers and on major radio stations. These delightful ads depicted a young couple with their son standing in front of a crowd with the simple message stating, " We Believe in Mom and Dad. We believe in Marriage." This was followed by the message:

The family is a schoolroom for life, and lasting lessons come from a man and a woman - a father and a mother.

We believe in mom and dad. Their marital commitment to each other and their parental commitment to their children is the foundation of our society.
The message could not have been simpler or more reasonable.

Predictably, however, the homosexual activists went ballistic again. Their website went into overdrive, as usual, referring to the ad as hatred, ignorant, intolerant, etc., etc. - a pathetic response to such a splendid presentation. Thank you FOTF for your wonderful effort. It is very deeply appreciated by all of us in the pro-family movement.

The ad campaign was scarcely over before the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) came knocking at FOTF's door requesting to examine its books. Since FOTF is a tax-exempt agency and investigations are usually complaint-based, it is not difficult to guess who made the complaint. For some inexplicable reason, however, in this case CCRA backed down and did not proceed with actually examining the books. However, its threat remains heavy in the air.

  3. LifeSite News Under Attack

The pro-life/family website, http://www.lifesitenews.com has also come under attack from homosexual activists. The homosexual lobby group, EGALE, which pretends it is a moderate organization wanting only equality for homosexuals/lesbians, recently hosted, on email, a discussion on how to shut down the LifeSite News site by way of harassment lawsuits aimed at bankrupting the new service. This arose while lifesitenews.com was receiving threatening e-mails from homosexual activists including those of EGALE.

    For example, one e-mail stated:

I remember hearing years ago that the KKK was brought down by lawsuits that almost wiped it out financially. I wonder why we can't sue LifeSite and family hate groups who spread lies about us - for defamation. … Perhaps we just don't have the resources or time to do this. It would be great if we could though, it might actually stop the lies, if one or two hate groups are sued.
  4. Homosexual Guerilla Invasion Tactics

Apparently, not satisfied with mere written threats and insults, the homosexual activists on April 17th decided to get physical and crash in military fashion the national convention of a Calgary pro-family group called Concerned Christian Coalition (CCC). This action was backed by EGALE, according to its website. The activists, beating sticks, yelling, swearing and chanting, attempted to stop a dinner in support of the former Executive Director of CCC, Stephen Boissoin. Boissoin is to appear before the Alberta Human Rights Commission as a result of a "letter to the editor" published in the Red Deer Advocate on June 17, 2002, which was critical of homosexual activism in schools. Those in attendance prayed while the Gay Militia shouted blasphemies and accusations of bigotry. They shouted, "Right-wing bigots go away. Gay Militia is here to stay." They remained in the room for a considerable length of time disrupting the proceedings, but left before the Calgary police arrived. The police are reviewing videotapes of the event, but no charges have been laid to date.

Conclusion

REAL Women, FOTF and LifeSite have all received threatening and obscene letters from homosexual activists. We have no intention of being intimidated by them. We are carefully filing these letters for future use.
