FAITH AND FREEDOM ALLIANCE

Legal Academy

Faith and Freedom Alliance is a national, proactive, faith-based legal advocacy organization established to:

  • Train Canadian lawyers to litigate in constitutional law and decisively win cases involving religious freedom and the issues of life and family embraced by it.
  • Create and facilitate a proactive, long-term legal strategy to advance key cases that have the potential to contribute to the legal protection of religious freedom.
  • Facilitate the funding of intervention and litigation in important constitutional and precedent-setting cases.

A training session will be held in Ottawa, May 29 - June 2, 2004, for interested lawyers.

All expenses of the candidate - travel, hotel, most meals, etc. - will be covered by the Faith and Freedom Alliance. In return, the candidate must commit himself/herself to providing 300 hours pro bono (free) legal services over a three-year period. This contribution could include litigation, research, writing, legal service to churches and to Christian charities, rendering legal opinions to legislative bodies, etc.

The training academy will feature some of the nation's top legal experts who will instruct in Canadian constitutional matters in the area of pro-life, family advocacy and various Charter issues. Not only will attendees learn from the best, but they will leave knowing a network of lawyers who will be glad to assist them in the future.

An application form to attend the Academy may be obtained from:
