A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO PROTECT MARRIAGE
Canadian lawmakers have traditionally "enshrined"
in the Constitution the things that have a special place,
or need protection in our laws.
Traditional marriage is one such institution
that should be "enshrined" in our Constitution to
permanently protect it from encroachment. This is because
marriage is an institution absolutely vital to our future
as a nation and to all our citizens.
Because of the threats to marriage today,
an organization to enshrine it in the highest law of the land
has recently been formed. It is called Enshrine Marriage Canada
(www.enshrinemarriage.ca).
It is headed by William Gairdner author of the bestseller
"The War Against the Family". Members of the steering
committee include, Susan Martinuk, a Vancouver based Christian
freelance columnist and media commentator for public policy
issues and current affairs; Douglas Farrow, Associate Professor
of Christian Thought at McGill University; David Novak, Professor
of the Study of Religion and Professor of Philosophy at the
University of Toronto, and Richard Bastien, a consultant both
nationally and internationally on economic matters who helped
establish the new Quebec quarterly journal of cultural criticism
entitled Egards.
Enshrine Marriage Canada has prepared the
magnificent Declaration of Marriage which we have reproduced
on p. 17, which you may wish to copy and distribute it to
friends, family, your church members etc.
