REAL Women's Conference 2005 "Standing Firm on Moral Principles"

Novotel North York, Toronto
April 9, 2005

This year's national conference was held in Toronto on a beautiful spring day. The weather was a pleasant surprise to us as our previous two national conferences held in Saskatoon and Ottawa respectively had taken place in the middle of ice and snow storms which made travel very treacherous (not that it stopped our intrepid REAL Women members!)

The bright sunshine contributed to the wonderful day, filled with stimulating speakers, excellent food, and lots of camaraderie. All those who attended the conference enjoyed every minute of the day.

A summary of the talks for those who were unable to attend follows:

Speaker Topic
Lorna Dueck Strength for the Journey
Peter S. Taylor Choice in Child Care:
Do Families really want a national day care strategy?
Detective Doug McCutcheon
Toronto Police Service
Drug Squad
Marijuana
Dawn Stefanowicz Growing up in a Homosexual Household
