25TH ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE
ANNOUNCEMENT

REAL Women will be holding its 25th anniversary celebration on Saturday, September 20th, 2008 at the elegant and beautiful Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa. The hotel is located adjacent to the Parliament Buildings in downtown Ottawa. It is a heritage building reminiscent of a grand French chateau.

The Annual General Meeting of REAL Women of Canada will be held at the Cartier Place Suite Hotel on the Friday evening, September 19th, 2008.

Because the Chateau Laurier is so incredibly popular, it is not always easy to obtain rooms there, and as a result, we have also booked rooms for conference participants at the Cartier Place Suite Hotel, 180 Cooper St - Ottawa, ON, Canada K2P 2L5 Tel:1-800-236-8399 web site: www.suitedreams.com. This hotel is a lovely ten-minute walk from the Chateau Laurier. The singular cost of the rooms at the Cartier Place is somewhat lower than the Chateau Laurier.

If you wish to stay at the Chateau Laurier it will be necessary for you to book your room there right away. Email and telephone number of the Chateau Laurier is: www.fairmont.com/laurier, 1-613-241-1414.

Speakers at the Conference are:

Representatives from the World Congress of Families, including Dr. Allan Carlson, President, Mr. Don Feder, Director of Communications for the World Congress of Families IV and Dr. Janice Crouse, of Concerned Women of America.

Barbara Kay, a popular and conservative regular columnist for the National Post newspaper.

Dr. Ted Morton who is Minister of Sustainable Resource Development in the province of Alberta and also an elected Senator-in-waiting for the Canadian Senate.

Dr. Michael Wagner, author of the recently published book, "Standing on Guard for Thee," in which he discusses the history of the social conservative/Christian right movement in Canada. REAL Women figures prominently in this book and therefore, it seemed appropriate that we include Dr. Wagner as one of our speakers at our 25th Anniversary celebration.

Gwen Landolt, National Vice President and one of the founders of REAL Women of Canada will also be a speaker at the conference.

We hope you will be able to join us for this milestone in our history.
